Marketing isn’t an exact science. I talk about putting the client at the centre and daring to challenge the usual ways of doing things.
Challenging the traditional view of marketing
Marketing can often seem like a science built on fixed rules and mathematical calculations. I hadn’t been in the industry long before I saw an abstract, detached world where the client was often forgotten. I get into that in my talks.
That wasn’t what I’d pictured when I dreamt of working in marketing. So I decided to do it differently and put the client at the centre.
In July 2015, aged 23, I started Webamp from a shared flat in Nørrebro. My childhood savings of DKK 40,000 were the only investment. I took no salary for two to two and a half years, and in the end I moved back in with my dad. Webamp was meant to be a place where there’s room to question things, and where the client is always the hero.
In my universe, the client is the hero, and we’re Yoda, trying to advise them.
Amplify, where the client is the hero
My drive to put the client at the centre and dare to challenge the status quo was the start of Webamp, which changed its name to Amplify in 2024. Amplify is a marketing agency that helps companies with strategy, branding and execution. From the beginning, my mantra has been that we should explore, challenge and develop the way we lead and run businesses. We still do.
We work across digital marketing, because it all fits together when you want to be seen online. We were named a Børsen Gazelle in 2021 and 2022 and have turned over more than DKK 80 million since the start, without investors. We’ve helped more than 350 companies.
What my marketing talk covers
My approach to marketing has always been about creating a joined-up solution for companies of all sizes that need help finding their way in the digital market. So I cover:
- SEO.
- Advertising on Google.
- Social media marketing.
- Websites.
- How we work with all of it at a strategic level.
I believe marketing should be about questioning processes rather than following them blindly. There has to be room for mistakes, because, roughly speaking, mistakes lead to one of two things: either you learn a lesson, or something brilliant comes out of it that you can build into your strategy. Marketing isn’t rigid. It changes all the time, and there’s rarely just one right answer. That’s the foundation of my talk on marketing.
Marketing with AI and a person at the helm
AI is moving marketing fast right now. Since March 2026, I’ve been rebuilding Amplify with AI. We’ve got an AI colleague in Slack, and every morning it goes through the ad accounts. But a person approves before anything happens. I talk about what that’s taught me about what the machine can take over, and what still needs a person who knows the client.
When everyone can make more content in less time, it gets harder to be seen. So it’s also about brand and attention: why the personal and the recognisable win when everyone else is using AI.
My own experience as an entrepreneur
My journey as an entrepreneur has had its ups and downs, and it’s taught me things about leadership, culture and marketing that I wouldn’t be without. In 2021, I was selected for Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe in the Media & Marketing category and for Berlingske Talent 100 in the leadership category.
If you’d like to hear more about my own journey, read about my talk on entrepreneurship below.
From 2021 to 2024, I hosted the Danish-language podcast Den Nye Standard. I talked to 41 different entrepreneurs, leaders and inspiring people about the stories that shaped them, and shared my own experiences along the way. The conversations have more than 125,000 plays, and they’re all still there.
